My art is an extension of myself, my heritage, and culture. Hello and greetings to whomever is visiting, whether I met you at a show, the Santa Fe Plaza or you so happen to find my site. My name is Alexander R. Youvella Jr AKA “AJ”, and I’ve been an artist almost all my life, in many ways but more so in 2D. I come from Tesuque Pueblo and the Hopi nation and is where I grew up. I also come from a long line of artists as well, on my mother’s side painters, and on my father’s side Kachina doll Carvers, I took my mom’s side lol. As for my art it reflects me as a person, who likes to experiment be creative, and above all have fun. So as a result I practice in various mediums and styles such as acrylic, watercolor, graphite, and so on. As I continue to live and grow, so does my art.
